Video Interviews

 Let’s tell your story

In our best efforts to keep the interview subject comfortable, the interview will be conducted in an informal, casual dialogue between the interviewer and interviewee. Pre-submitted questions will be asked, as well as unprompted questions that organically shift the course of conversation.

To keep the video feeling natural, we ask to avoid looking at the cameras and maintain eye-contact with the interviewer. The interviewee will be unable to read directly from any notes during their response to maintain heightened naturalism. However, between questions or by the end of the interview, they will have an opportunity to reflect, rephrase, review their notes, or restate their answers until they are content.

How the Day Flows

Interviews

Our video team will arrive 2 hours before appointment at each (unique-address) location for load-in & setup of camera, audio, & lighting equipment.
Subsequent (on-site) interviews will require 45 min between appointments for equipment re-positioning for new interview look.

  • LOAD-IN: requires client's location manager on site to navigate crew to filming location (60 min)

  • SETUP: Prior to each interview. Does not require client's time, crew only. (45 min)

  • INTERVIEW: Requires interview subject's time (30-60 min)

  • LOAD-OUT: Does not require client's time, crew only (30-60min)

B-Roll

“B-Roll” is supplemental footage we capture outside of interviews to enhance the viewing experience. This helps to connect our viewers to your story by cutting away from the interview “A-Roll”shot, showing dynamic and engaging footage to complement the subject’s audio narrative.

Our team generally prefers capturing b-roll on a separate day after the interview has been filmed and edited, as the narrative built in the edit often informs the best b-roll to capture.

B-roll generally involves less equipment than interviews. Capture time ranges depending on the video’s needs, but we generally book 1hr time slots.

  • LOAD-IN: requires a company contact on site to navigate crew to filming locations (15 min.)

  • B-ROLL SCENE: Requires subject's time (15-30 min. per scene)

  • LOAD-OUT: Does not require client's time, crew only (15 min.)
